Volunteering at school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education as well as get to know the staff and other parents and carers.

Research shows that children benefit when their parents or carers are actively involved in their education and school life.

You can help by:

  • listening to children read in the classroom
  • volunteering on sports days
  • helping supervise excursions
  • getting involved in fundraising activities
  • joining school committees.

Getting involved

Our most important resources for our students and their learning are parents and volunteers. Many of our programs would be less successful without this support.

We have 'Timehelp' volunteers working with students to support learning programs that teachers devise.

We also have parent assistance from those able to give some time.

We also welcome parent helpers to our classrooms to support learning programs. Parents also assist in the library with book covering, sorting and shelving. If you have any spare time please ask your child's teacher how you may help.

Please see Parent Volunteers (PDF 186 KB) and Declaration for Child-Related Workers (PDF 225 KB) for more information.
