Academic opportunities

Our school provides a selection of opportunities for students in their learning. We have established two enrichment classes - catering for students from Years 3 to 6, who demonstrate appropriate creativity and skill in academic areas.

Students are nominated by their teachers to sit a screening test. Successful students are placed in the classes. The students in Years 3 or 5 of the enrichment classes are guaranteed a position in that class for the following year. Any vacancies at the end of a school year will be filled by teacher nomination and a screening test. There are up to 30 students in each class.

For more information please contact the school.

The competitive arena awaits students with the chance to excel in public speaking, debating, web design, student newspapers, environmental management and much more.

Student competitions

Our students are given opportunities to participate in competitions such as, the ICAS competitions (University of NSW), the Premier's Reading and Sporting challenges and the Premier's Spelling Bee.

As a part of the Toongabbie Learning Community, we offer students opportunities to involve themselves in activities with our local school such as debating and public speaking, science days and gifted and talented sessions.

Interested students can also participate in the school's choir, recorder groups, drama and for senior students, a guitar group.

Extra-curricular activities for chess, keyboard, and sports lessons (cost to parents) are also held on site out of school hours.
